BackgroundAim and ScopeHistory

Modeling and simulation on various length and time scales have become a major field of Materials Science and Engineering in academia as well as in industrial research and development. Multscale Materials Modeling encompasses all the tools which physicists, chemists, mechanical engineers and materials scientists have been developing to describe materials and their behaviour.
Multiscale materials modelling is striving for an improvement and enhancement of virtual design and development of materials, and of virtual development and testing of components.
